ABOUT US

Established in Chelsea in 1987, with offices in both London and in Dorset, Reid Williams Design represents the creative partnership of Kerstin and Susanna Williams, a mother-daughter duo offering distinguished interior design services both across Britain and internationally.

OUR PRACTISE

With roots stretching back to the 1980s, our studio has cultivated a reputation for creating thoughtfully considered interiors that seamlessly marry elegance with functionality. From intimate residential projects to expansive hospitality schemes, we approach each commission with the same meticulous attention to detail and personalised service that has become our hallmark.

Kerstin Williams, Founder

Swedish-born Kerstin Williams established her practice amidst London's discerning property market of the 1980s, quickly garnering recognition for her understated, considered approach to design. Drawing inspiration from her Scandinavian heritage and deep appreciation for art and architecture, Kerstin developed a distinctive aesthetic characterised by its quiet sophistication and inherent comfort.

A pivotal collaboration with Taylor Woodrow spanning two decades saw Kerstin consulting on prestigious developments in Gibraltar, whilst private commissions have taken her portfolio across the globe—from Asia to Monaco. In London, her work encompasses distinguished addresses across Belgravia, Regent's Park, Holland Park, St James's and Chelsea, complemented by significant country house projects throughout Britain.

Notable projects include the creation of show apartments for Native Land at their Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners designed NEO Bankside development. Whilst client discretion remains paramount, select works have been featured in House & Garden and Architectural Digest.

THE TEAM

Susanna Williams, Design Director

Having grown up immersed in the world of interior design, Susanna formally joined Reid Williams Design in 2021, bringing with her a wealth of experience from some of Britain's most respected design houses. Her career began at Robert Kime in 2005, where she developed an astute eye for antiques and textiles. This was followed by a tenure at Lord & Vella, working on distinguished residential projects in prime Central London.

Susanna's expertise expanded into luxury hospitality during her time with Alex Kravetz Design, where she worked on internationally renowned hotels including The Dorchester, London; The Imperial Hotel, Vienna; and the Swissotel, Sochi—commissioned for the Winter Olympics.

Her comprehensive understanding of interior architecture was further enhanced through her experience at a prestigious architectural practice, where she gained valuable insights into the structural and spatial aspects of design. Time spent working with a distinguished British joinery company deepened her knowledge of bespoke furniture design and craftsmanship—expertise that proves invaluable in creating truly tailored interiors for our clients.

This breadth of experience across residential, hospitality, architectural and bespoke joinery sectors allows Susanna to bring a holistic approach to each project, combining aesthetic excellence with practical expertise and technical knowledge.
